'Three Waters' High Country Holidays- 1st Anniversary Weekend.

Rustic, serene, peaceful, total relaxation, if that sounds like the words you like to describe somewhere, then Steve Langley and his partner Kerry have the ideal spot for your next naturist break.

'Three Waters' is near Bullock Mountain approximately 15 minutes north west of the town of Glen Innes in the New England area of NSW about a six hour drive up from Sydney or about four hours from Brisbane.  Set on a permanent river and creek, there are 1200 acres that you can roam or just lay in the shade beside the creek.

My wife and I made the trek up from Port Stephens in a nice leisurely five hour drive.  If you need provisions of any kind, Glen Innes has a full shopping centre.

The main camping area has spaces for caravans and tent sites overlooking the creek.  There are BBQ pits, shelter sheds with seats and tables, running water, toilets at the camping spot.  At the homestead is acces to shower, laundry etc.  We had a new solar shower with us and it provided all the warm water we required.

Wake up in the morning to a fantastic dawn chorus of kookaburras, finches, rosellas and many other native birds as they come down for an early morning drink from the creek.  You may also see wild deer, kangaroos and other native animals along the edge of the creek.

You many spend your days bush walking, horse riding, four wheel driving, fossicking for sapphires and other gemstones (we found a few small pieces and found it to be quite addictive sifting through the gravel looking for that elusive piece of blue stone) or just lay around and do absolutely nothing, the option to do anything is totally yours.  If you are up to it the water in the creek is lovely and clear and also cool so you may swim form the jetties that Steve has constructed or wander in.  I can assure you it is very refreshing.

Your host Steve Langley would have to be one of nature's living treasures.  Originally a merchant navy shipwright, through to running a massive horse riding pup trek expeditions to now in his retirement running a great naturist retreat.  His stories of his adventures around the campfire or at his happy hour on the homestead verandah will keep you enthralled.  Steve comes across a very natural and genuine person, what you see is what you get.

The weekend we were there was the first anniversary of the opening of the retreat.  On the Saturday evening, Steve and Kerry put on a BBQ on his verandah for the fourteen guests staying there and kept all entertained with his stories.  He has just started bush poetry and his poems are very moving and well worth reading and listening to.

Helen and I had a fantastic relaxing weekend and if that is the type of getaway that you would like to have, head up and see them, you will be made to feel most welcome.
